This month, we have been going through the Rebel lesson series for our MSM Sunday Morning Bible Study, and your student is learning about the importance of obedience and what not to do when God calls you through studying the story of Jonah.
We realize that you, as parents, are the primary faith influencers in your child’s life. The best disciple making takes place when students’ parents take the lead. Here are some conversation starters to help you talk with your child about what they’re learning:
What’s something that stood out to you or surprised you from this lesson series on Jonah?
What’s an application you’ve made and how is it going?
In what areas of your life is it hardest to be obedient to God? How can you grow in that?
Oakwood is Intentionally Engaging our community this Saturday.
This is an excellent way to rally the family and come out to serve alongside an organization that sets us up for success and makes a big dent in the hunger problem in our area.
Saturday, October 16 | 7:30a -12p at Oakwood. Volunteers are needed to help bag, sort and load groceries into client’s vehicles. Must be able to lift 25lbs and stand for the duration of the shift. Please park in the Children’s Building parking area the day of the event. Registration and masks are required.
The Oakwood Student Ministry is taking on the task of providing the TRUNKS for the TRUNK OR TREAT section of the Fall Fest this year. We are going to make this a full on competition for all that participate by bringing a vehicle that is decorated and festive as we love on our community.
